The Contract

All persons applying for Dream Wild Adventures volunteer projects must complete an application form. In the case of minors, a legal parent/guardian must sign an indemnity form. The person or persons who have completed the forms are hereafter referred to as the clients and/or applicants.  The client agrees to be bound by these application conditions. No agent, representative or client of Dream Wild Adventures has any right to alter, vary or waive any of these conditions.  This contract, by whoever it is made and wherever it is made, is subject to and shall be governed and construed according to South African law.

Payment / Acceptance of Application

Once Dream Wild Adventures receives and approves the signed application form, a provisional booking and invoice will be sent to the client via e-mail.  The client must then pay 50% of the total fee to qualify for our projects (non-refundable, non-transferable, non-changeable).  Please note that while provisional bookings are indications of project availability, volunteer placements are only confirmed upon receipt of the 50% deposit. Airfare and other travel arrangements should only be arranged after confirmation of a volunteer placement.

The balance of the project price is payable in full 30 days before the date of departure (for the entire program schedule).  If the balance is not paid by the due date, Dream Wild Adventures reserves the right to disqualify the applicant.  If an applicant applies 30 days or less before the start of the volunteer project, then the full price is payable at the time of application.

Cancellation / Change by Client

Any notification of cancellation must be in writing. The date on which the letter is received by Dream Wild Adventures or its agents will determine the cancellation charges applicable. In the event of cancellation, the following charges apply more than 30 days before departure for the entire project schedule (50%), less than 30 days before departure for the entire project schedule (100%).

In certain unique situations, when agreed by all parties and to the benefit of the project (such as a change from high season to low season dates), Dream Wild Adventures may consider a date change for a $50 change fee.

Cancellation by Dream Wild Adventures

Dream Wild Adventures reserves the right to cancel any project.  In the event of a project being cancelled for whatever reason, the client may choose a full refund of monies paid, less any used services, or alternatively any other project that Dream Wild Adventures is in a position to offer.  No further liability by Dream Wild Adventures to the client with regard to the cancellation will arise.

Unused Services

In the event of a client failing to join a project, joining after departure, or leaving prior to completion, no refunds or liability will be accepted by Dream Wild Adventures. Unused services may not be traded or used by other clients. If a client leaves prior to completion, they must sign a release form and their participation in the project will be cancelled.

Dream Wild Adventures does not accept any liability arising out of changes to itineraries, or any other matters relating to a project, due to factors outside its control.  These factors include wars, strikes, weather, political disputes, border closures, delayed flights, etc.  Any expenses incurred by the client arising out of these changes are for their own account.

Travel Documents

All clients must be in possession of insurance, a valid passport, together with any necessary visas or required vaccinations, and the client accepts full responsibility for obtaining the same.  Any information or advice given by Dream Wild Adventures or its agents with regard to the above is given in good faith, but Dream Wild Adventures can accept no responsibility for the information given.  Should a client be refused entry to any country due to incorrect or incomplete documentation, Dream Wild Adventures will not be held liable for any costs of such delays or repatriation costs for the client.

Authority on Project

The client accepts that at all times the decisions of the authorities will be final on all matters for the well being of the client.

During a project should a client, in the sole opinion of Dream Wild Adventures or its duly authorized representative, be considered unsuitable for the project for any reason including, but not limited to, being in contravention of any rules/guidelines of the project as set out from time to time or any customs/laws of South Africa, or by reason of causing difficulty, inconvenience or annoyance to other clients, staff or management, then Dream Wild Adventures may disqualify the applicant. In such circumstances, transportation to the nearest town will be provided.  Dream Wild Adventures will not be liable to make any refund to the client, and no other liability by Dream Wild Adventures to the client will arise.

Limitation of Liability

Client bookings are accepted on the understanding by the client that certain risks exist as an inherent part of travel in South Africa, and clients undertake Dream Wild Adventures projects and associated expeditions entirely at their own risk.  While Dream Wild Adventures takes every precaution to ensure the safety of clients, no responsibility can be accepted for any death, injury or loss that might occur to such clients, sustained from any causes whatsoever.  The client and his/her dependents, heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, hereby indemnify and hold blameless, Dream Wild Adventures, its members, employees, representatives and agents from any claims of any nature and from any liability for delay, loss, damage, injury, illness or death arising from any cause whatsoever out of events related to or occurring during a project.

Price Increase

Dream Wild Adventures reserves the right to increase program prices due to any increases in fuel costs, park entrance fees or fluctuation of exchange rates.

Clients participating in excursions out of Dream Wild Adventures projects do so at their own risk.

Clients are bound by the aforementioned terms and conditions and enrollment information must be complete and accurate.  Any false declaration would render any claim whatsoever void and the client could further be held liable for prosecution by the laws governing South Africa.

Any activities undertaken during Dream Wild Adventures projects are at a client’s own risk and Dream Wild Adventures is indemnified against any claims whatsoever that may arise in connection with any injury, loss or damage during the activities at each destination or transport to and from each destination, in the knowledge that the program leaders will take all reasonable precautions for the safety and welfare of the participants.  Costs in respect of an accident or illness which, in the opinion of the authorities, requires medical attention, are the client’s liability.

Terms and Conditions

The following document describes Dream Wild Investments 122 (Pty) Ltd (DWI) terms and conditions, which you agree to by using our website. If you don't agree to anything that we describe here, please don't use the site but do let us know what you don't agree with, because customer service is our bread and butter and we love to hear from our customers.

DWI may need to change these terms from time to time as our product grows and becomes more awesome and this can happen without notice. We also reserve the right to interpret this document in the way that makes the most sense to us.

We understand that it's ridiculous to ask you to keep an eye on this document to see if it changes, but there's really no other way to let you know about it unless you want to sign up for our newsletter (which you should definitely do because it's excellent).

DWI is a reseller of tours and services from a wide variety of companies. We sincerely hope that you enjoy using our services. By using those services after any amendments have been made to this document, you agree to these terms and conditions, which we will now do our best to describe in some detail.

  1. You agree to use and any DWI affiliated websites and products (afterwards here referred to as "the incredible awesomeness that is DWI" or "DWI" for short) only for lawful purposes.

  2. You will only use DWI to make legitimate requests to book tours and other services that we offer through DWI. That means no speculative, false or fraudulent requests. You also agree not to use robots or other automated means to access our products (although if you would like to send us a robot to make us coffee in the morning, that is absolutely fine by us).

  3. You agree that you are not a direct competitor of our company coming to steal all our great ideas.

  4. You agree that you are allowed to agree to these terms. (We probably should have started with that. Maybe that will be a further amendment.)

  5. DWI does not endorse any offensive, indecent, inaccurate or inappropriate behaviour or content. By using this site, you agree not to put stuff like that up here. The only way you could do that is through the Facebook comment section on our content and then you'll be banned.

  6. If we ban you, you agree not to come back under a different name. That is just totally annoying and makes you an internet troll.

  7. We cannot vouch for the accuracy in the descriptions of all the tours, but rest assured, if someone is using our site to promote a tour with inaccurate information, we will act quickly to remove that content. You agree to let us know if something like that occurs so we can do something about it.

  8. You agree not to copy our stuff. We work hard on the content of this site and we don't like people stealing it. That said, maybe you'd like to partner with us. We love affiliate programs and we'd love to hear from you if you want to have our tours on your site.

  1. We reserve the right to remove content from our site without notice and at our sole discretion. For example, we might find the language in a review or a comment on a tour inappropriate for our site and we might just decide to delete it. We can do that.

  2. We are under no obligation to keep anything you write on DWI for any length of time. Sometimes servers crash and emails get lost. It happens.

  3. We love our writers, photographers, and other content people and we like them to be happy. We pledge to display your contributions to the site in the best way we can, but we make the decisions regarding design and all that. As with everything else here though, we would love to hear from you if you have any criticism.

  4. By submitting content to DWI you agree to allow us to keep it visible on DWI for as long as it makes sense to do so. We will probably not be showing your article about Christmas in June, for example. We reserve the right to display it again next year though.

Local advice

  1. Locals are responsible for the recommendations they post on the DWI platform and the DWI websites.

  2. DWI will not take responsibility and can not be held responsible for information provided by registered locals.

  3. If information posted infringes with terms and conditions we will remove the information and disable the local's profile.

  4. Locals are not allowed to recommend any illegal or unsafe activity and such advice will be removed immediately once reported.

  5. By providing local advice and recommendations the locals are allowing DWI to publish this information on our websites and mobile apps. We are also allowed to use examples in marketing for our service.

  6. Locals are not allowed to copy or republish advice from another local or add/upload content from any other source on the internet without the consent of the owner of that content, no matter if it's text or a photograph.

  1. We don't actually operate any of the tours. We resell other people's tours and try to help you find the tours you're looking for. DWI is not liable for any accidents, losses, injuries, damages, delays, expenses due to any action or inaction on the part of the operator, guides, or their other employees.

  2. If you do have any complaints about a tour, you agree to let us know so that we can help you to find a solution to your issue. We love to help.

  3. The terms and conditions for each of the tour operators may differ depending on the services that they offer.

  4. DWI is not responsible for any information about tours that we do not directly provide to you through our services and products.

  5. DWI does not guarantee availability for any tour until your booking has been confirmed and paid for.

  6. Certain tours are sensitive to changes in weather and may be cancelled. We cannot control the weather, as much as we might like to. See our cancellation policy below.

  7. We would advise all travellers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance in order to minimize any possible losses due to unforeseeable situations arising during your trip. You agree to do that if that makes sense for you.

  1. DWI will provide support through our website's support centre and through our email address:

  2. We pledge to give you the best customer support that is humanly possible.

  1. All of our prices are managed through our booking system and we pledge to give you the best price available on any particular tour.

  2. All prices on the website are valid when they are displayed on DWI, but those prices are subject to change at any time by the suppliers.

  3. Prices listed on the site are per person unless the tour specifically says so. We almost always also say "per person", but if there is any confusion about this, please contact us and we will explain fully.

  4. Prices are subjects to change up until the point when the booking has been confirmed.

  5. Prices are displayed along with any pertinent taxes at the point of purchase.

  6. Our prices do not include tips for your guides, tour directors, or your drivers or any other such cost. If you're happy with their service and you want to tip them, that's your business.

  7. Any food or beverage that you may need to buy on your trip is your responsibility. That may seem like common sense, but sometimes food and drink are offered on tours and you need to specifically book them as "extras". That's on you. Well, hopefully, the food and drink aren't on you, but you get the drift.

  1. If you need to cancel your trip or change your reservation just drop us a line and we'll do everything we can to help you do that, free of charge. However, costs may increase (or decrease) as a result of your booking changes. If that happens, we will let you know about any price increase (or decrease).

  2. If you reduce the number of people in a booking, that amounts to the cancellation of those passengers/participants. If you increase the number, please note that there may not be an available number of seats for the increase. Bear with us. We will do our absolute best to get you what you need.

  3. Cancellations are allowed, but keep in mind that some tour operators have cancellation fees associated with their tours. These cancellation policies are displayed on the individual tour pages on our site, where applicable.

  4. Cancellations can be made by the suppliers of tours due to weather conditions. Your safety is of the utmost concern, so if the snowmobile people say it is not safe to go up on the glacier, we absolutely and completely listen to them, because they are the experts. Any cancellations due to weather will result in a full refund and we will try our best to find you a different tour to go on.

  1. Payment for tours is made through our secure payment gateway on

  2. When you make a payment through our site, full payment is charged to your credit card.

  3. We pledge to make that process as secure as possible and we use SSL security through GlobalSign.

Moral Conduct

We admit that it seems unlikely that people would do any of the following things on our site, but then again the internet is full of weirdos, so here are some general things we would like you to agree to:

  1. You agree not to use the site to threaten, stalk, defraud, incite, harass, or advocate the harassment of another person or interfere with another person's use of the site.

  2. You agree not to use the site to transmit pornography or any other illegal content.

  3. You agree not to use the site to transmit spam, chain letters, contests, junk email, pyramid schemes, surveys or any other annoying mass messaging, whether you plan to make money off these schemes or not. We don't care, just don't do it.

  4. You agree not to cause harm to minors through our site.

  5. You will not use this site to promote bigotry, hatred or any discrimination against anyone.

  6. You will not use this site to do anything illegal.

  7. Finally, you agree not to try to hack our site. We worked hard on this. What's your deal?

In Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed these terms and conditions as much as we enjoyed writing them. While we can't be completely sure that they will be as clever and witty when our lawyer takes a look at them and makes us rewrite them, rest assured that the basic gist of this site is to provide you with a great experience of the tours we make available here.

We wish you a happy and safe trip and hope you have a great experience with DWI.
